2How much does EVAC24 Active with the ConnectMe Halo cost?

The service costs R199 per person, per device, per month. This covers:

  • The ConnectMe Halo device

  • Unlimited access to the AAA Response Centre (24/7/365)

  • Nationwide emergency response dispatch

  • Integrated medical evacuation benefits

  • Peace of mind knowing you’re never alone in an emergency.

3What happens when I press the SOS button?

Pressing the SOS button on your ConnectMe Halo immediately triggers:

  1. GPS Location Transmission – Your exact location is sent to the AAA Response Centre.

  2. Two-Way Voice Call – The device automatically opens a voice line so our operators can speak with you.

  3. Rapid Dispatch – Depending on the emergency, the nearest responder (security, medical, or roadside) is sent to your location.

  4. Emergency Contact Notification – Your listed emergency contact is informed simultaneously.

4Who responds when I call for help?

Your SOS signal is handled by the AAA Response Centre, which has access to over 2,000 professional responders nationwide. Depending on your situation, this may include:

  • Armed response units

  • Ambulance and paramedic teams

  • Helicopter or road-based medical evacuation

5Is EVAC24 Active a medical aid?
No. EVAC24 Active is not a medical aid. It is an emergency assistance and protection service that provides immediate response, evacuation, and limited accident-related benefits. It is designed to complement, not replace, your existing medical cover.
6What benefits are included with my membership?

7What are the age limits for membership?
Membership is open to individuals up to 70 years of age.
8To whom may queries regarding the device be directed, and what is the turnaround time?
All queries are to be directed to AAA Response International via email ( ). Turn around time for queries is within 24hours. ( Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30 )
9Do I need a smartphone to use the ConnectMe Halo?
No. The ConnectMe Halo is a standalone device with its own SIM card and connectivity. It does not require pairing with a smartphone. However, a companion mobile app is available for managing your emergency contacts and account details.
10How reliable is the GPS tracking?
The ConnectMe Halo uses advanced GPS and cellular triangulation to provide highly accurate location tracking, even in urban or rural areas. This ensures responders can find you quickly, no matter where you are.
11Where does EVAC24 Active operate?
Coverage is available nationwide across South Africa. Whether you are at home, on the road, hiking outdoors, or travelling between provinces, help is only a button-press away.
12How quickly will help arrive after I press SOS?
Response times vary depending on your location and the type of emergency. However, because your GPS coordinates are sent instantly and responders are dispatched from the nearest available unit, help is typically much faster than traditional emergency calls.
13Can I register multiple family members?
Yes. Each family member requires their own ConnectMe Halo device at R199 per month per device. This ensures everyone has direct access to SOS services without relying on a shared phone.
14How do I update or change my emergency contacts?
You can update your emergency contact details through the member support team or via the ConnectMe Halo companion app (if enabled). Keeping your contacts current ensures they are notified immediately during an incident.
15What happens if I accidentally press the SOS button?
Accidental activations are not a problem. Our Response Centre will still contact you to confirm if it’s an emergency. If it was pressed in error, simply let the operator know—no penalties apply.
16What exclusions should I be aware of?

The service does not cover:

  • Non-emergency, non-accident related injury, transport (e.g., scheduled hospital visits)

  • Medical costs unrelated to accidents or emergencies

  • Events outside South Africa’s borders

  • Membership for individuals older than 70

17Who provides and underwrites the service?
EVAC24 Active is powered by AAA Response and underwritten by GENRIC Insurance Company Ltd (FSP 43638). The program is administered by Loyalty Life Management Services (Pty) Ltd (FSP 46160).
18What happens if I cancel my membership?
You can cancel at any time by notifying EVAC24 Active. Your ConnectMe Halo device must be returned, and your cover will end at the close of your current billing cycle.
